POSITION: Shipping/Receiving Clerk
LOCATION: Saline, MI
COMPENSATION: $18.00-$20.00 Hourly
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, occasional Saturday 6 am to 11 am
STANDARD HOURS: 7:00am-7:30pm, hours also could be 5:00am-5:30pm
OVERTIME HOURS: Vary

Job Summary:
Join our growing organization as a Shipping Clerk, working closely with all departments to ensure the efficient operation of the Shipping/Receiving Department. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for processing inbound and outbound materials accurately and on time, maintaining records, and promptly notifying the appropriate parties of any discrepancies. This role is critical to ensuring smooth shipping and receiving processes in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Accurately scan, pack, and process shipments to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Prioritize customer needs by processing shipments based on due dates.
- Independently manage computers and shipping systems for effective operations.
- Receive incoming materials, label them appropriately, and transfer them to the stockroom.
- Maintain accurate electronic records by scanning and filing packing slips and linking them to the ERP system.
- Keep the work area clean and organized while following all safety procedures.
- Input high volumes of data accurately for shipments, labels, and receipts.
- Inspect and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and work with materials, quality, and purchasing teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively regarding any shipping or receiving discrepancies.
- Process urgently needed parts for production in a timely manner.
- Occasionally operate a forklift for loading and unloading goods.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of experience in warehouse or inventory control operations preferred.
Related Experience:
- 1+ years of warehouse or inventory control experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of transportation procedures required; prior transportation experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Ability to bend, lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects.
- Must be customer service oriented and able to work independently.
Physical Demands:
- Must regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs., frequently up to 25 lbs., and occasionally more than 50 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull carts and pallet jacks.
- Regular use of hands, standing, walking, and occasional kneeling or crouching.
- 20/20 vision (with or without glasses) and color vision required.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing/warehouse environment with moderate noise levels on the production floor.
