Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
Unit Position Summary
Assisting graduate student with fisheries research at United States Geological Survey (USGS) Hammond Bay Biological Station (HBBS) in Millersburg, Michigan during November and December 2024 (possible flexibility on start and end dates, may start sooner and/or end later). This position will involve setting up and conducting behavioral experiments on adult cisco (Coregonus artedi), to observe fish responses to different olfactory cues and providing fish care. Experiments will be conducted at night, so there will be frequent night work in this position. Experience working in a hatchery/caring for fish desired. Position will also involve operating truck and trailer to transport water tanks between Jordan River National Fish Hatchery and Hammond Bay Biological Station. Housing near HBBS facility provided if needed.
