Job description – Decking Demo & Layout Crew Leader
C&L Ward, Michigan's leading home improvement company, is searching for a hard-working individual for our Deck Demo Team.
A typical day will consist of traveling from our Davison office to the client’s home. As a Crew Leader, you will also be responsible for communicating with the homeowner, daily field production, demo of existing deck structures, reading deck layouts, digging holes for build crews to follow, upholding installation standards & quality control of the installation. Job Requirements:
- Ability to drive trailer & use machinery equipment (dingo & attachments)
- Extensive knowledge of composite decking
- Ability to read blueprints and perform deck layout based of blueprint
- Comfortable with technology (Apps, Photos, Communication)
- Capable of completing tasks despite encountering obstacles
- Adopt and utilize C&L Ward best practices and company standards
- Proven ability to use measuring tapes, squares, levels and other carpentry tools to plan, lay-out, measure, cut, and install products and/or parts to specifications
- Proven ability to use and operate hand and power tools such as power saws, miter saws, table saws, concrete breaker, power nailers and fasteners, screw guns, sawzall, and other construction tools
- Ability to lead and manage a 2 man crew
- Willing to work year-round in potentially inclement weather
- Must have driver’s license and CLEAN driving record
- Must be able to train and manage an apprentice
- Must pass background check
- Good communication skills with customers is key to our business model
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of carpentry/Framing experience required

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday (Saturdays as needed)
