Material Handling Automation Engineer - 16592BR
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work in conjunction with manufacturing facilities to develop and implement material handling cost savings initiatives and automated material handling systems to improve flow and reduce PMHV travel.
· Provide technical expertise to plants and new model programs to determine and develop short-term and long-term automation plans based on program actions and/or cost savings initiatives. Develop costs, budgets and timing as required.
· Work in conjunction with purchasing to develop sourcing and blanket order strategies.
· Develop material handling equipment and systems delivering improved safety and cost.
· Have an overall knowledge of MP&L business and affiliated external organizations.
· Support the development and implementation of new material handling technology that maximizes material handling efficiency while reducing implementation cost and overall cost of ownership.
· Provide engineering leadership and core competency in all material handling automation initiatives.
· Development of material handling methods and technology to improve robustness, reliability and maintainability.
· Actively participate in development / deployment of Company initiatives to transform the business.
· Develop subject-matter-expertise in material handling delivery systems and automation.
Create solutions aligned with affiliated organizations to meet business needs.
· Develop ability to build robust business cases.
