Position Summary
Responsible for running the automated plating equipment and monitoring product in process.
Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment.
Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
Follow all environmental, health, and safety rules.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Operate the automated plating equipment.
Set up and run correct recipes for each operation.
Assist creating recipes for new products and modify recipes for current products.
Start up and shut down of Zinc and Nickel lines.
Perform quality sampling and testing requirements on the lines.
Setup and standardize plating thickness testers.
Troubleshoot and identify problems on the plating lines and seek resolution.
Monitor chemical levels in tanks.
Monitor and adjust tank temperatures as needed.
Drain, clean and maintain plating tanks and equipment.
Monitor barrels for wear and tear and have them repaired.
Verify product in correct drum when loading.
Ensure all activities are being followed in regards to the Process Control, Scheduling,
Process Parameters, and Customer Requirements.
Ensure proper equipment operation.
Shut down the plating process and identify any equipment issues.
Perform the duties required for any necessary documentation. Including, but not limited
to, accurate and timely data entry, ticket creation, and signatures.
When necessary, move material by operating a forklift or using non-motorized devices.
Work with management to schedule maintenance as required and ensure equipment is
being properly maintained.
Assist operators as needed.
Suggest process improvement ideas.
All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications-Education/Experience
Required:
Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the department.
Ability to use inspection equipment as required.
Ability to consistently meet production and quality standards.
Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of all required operator
documentation.
Good communication and teamwork skills, including written communication as
needed.
Ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems.
Basic math skills.
Demonstrate the understanding of the manufacturing process and machine
requirements to perform basic and repetitive work assignments.
Understanding of plating effects and processing.
Ability to comprehend charts and graphs and react as necessary.
Ability to legibly complete records and documentation.
Previous problem solving and troubleshooting skills / experience.
Basic fluency with editing and tracking software such as Microsoft Word, Excel or
Google.
Preferred:
Previous plating experience.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing or processing.
Background in electro-plating is a plus.
Knowledge in CQI-11 and Automotive plating standards.
Knowledge in IATF16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.
