The Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office has full time and part time openings and is currently accepting applications for the position of Corrections Deputy. Applicants are expected to pass a drug screening, background investigation and oral interview.
General Information
No prior experience required
18 years or older - High school diploma or equivalent
Prior criminal history – Not an automatic disqualifier Relaxed tattoo and beard policy
12 hour shifts with every other weekend off
Over 180 regularly scheduled days off per year PLUS accrued leave time
Mackinac County Residency – NOT REQUIRED
Pay and Benefits: Minimum starting pay from $21.52 - $25.84 an hour depending on experience plus OT and shift premium pay. No cost health care for the employee and family, including medical/dental/vision. Longevity pay and vested retirement after 6 years that includes up to 9% employer contribution and employee retirement health care with county contribution depending on years of service.
Sick, vacation and personal days are also included. All uniforms, training and equipment are paid for or provided by the employer.
