Delta College, serving as the region’s leader in workforce training, has a team of Employment Services (ES) Advisors placed at the Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! offices. This team works to provide job seekers excellent customer service and assistance in utilizing Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! services.
This role will be assigned to work from a Michigan Works! service center in Bay, Midland or Saginaw. This is a grant funded position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Proactively communicate available services and resources to job seekers
- Tailor service delivery to individual job seekers’ needs
- Assist job seekers with the creating accounts and posting of their resume on the State of Michigan’s (SOM) designated labor exchange system
- Provide direction to job seekers in the completion of a job search
- Understand the scope of all Michigan Works! and partner agency programs to effectively assist job seekers in utilizing services
- Maintain compliance with unemployment registrations/regulations
- Refer employer inquiries to the appropriate BST
- Comply with all sections of the Employment Services Manual, regulations and updates
- Make appropriate referrals to TAA, SNAP, WIOA, Veteran Services, and appropriate SOM and local partner agencies
- Market accelerated training program opportunities, participate in recruitment activities and identify potential candidates for referral to the training programs
- Enter program referral data customers as per annual goals.
- Seek customer service responses through job seeker surveys
- Maintain accurate statistical reports (as established by the MWA)
- Provide support to Business Service Team with employer hiring and informational events and individual interviewing
- Meet MWA-Established Goals
- Administer RESEA program in compliance with TIA policy and Unemployment Insurance Agency requirements.
- Coordinate with ES Manager for services such as interpreters/translators and for the provision of services related to H-2A anH-2B
- Participate in agency events as needed
- Maintain up to date knowledge on the ES complaint system and assist job seekers with resources and follow up. Submit related reports as required
- Implement and/or support special programs/initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree
- Evidence of intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Additional Experiences Considered:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- One or more years’ experience working with job seekers
