Lifeguard at Sparrow's Michigan Athletic Club
Purpose: Responsible for the safety of Michigan Athletic Club members and guests, enforcing pool rules and regulations in the Indoor, Outdoor/Air Structure pool areas.
Job Duties: Be prepared to handle an emergency situation at any time and be responsible for MAC aquatic patron safety at all times. Maintain lifeguarding skills by attending MAC inservices. Maintain the customer service ideals of the MAC. Communicate all pool rules and policies of the MAC patrons. Operate the slide in a safe manner in accordance with MAC and the Carnival Operator's guidelines. Administer first aid when necessary, clean up bio-hazardous materials, and take responsibility for the appearance of the pool and basic cleaning duties. Testing of chemicals ph and Chlorine. Dress and act professionally and assist other guards and staff when necessary. Serve as a role model for MAC customer service behavioral standards of performance.
Requirements: Must hold current Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer and AED certifications. Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs to assist in removing pool covers. Must be able to conduct ph and chlorine testing, and be able and willing to clean-up and conduct removal of biohazardous materials.
