The Director of Corporate and Community Engagement is responsible for managing the college’s strategy and plan as it relates to engaging key industry partners and community-based organizations to fulfill the college’s strategic goals and initiatives. The Director will provide hands-on leadership to college-wide initiatives that enhance the college’s connection with external partners which assist in growing enrollment, revenue generation, market-share and overall college success. This role reports directly to and serves as a critical thought-partner to the EVP and Chief Workforce and Community Development Officer.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide hands-on leadership to develop, execute and measure effectiveness of institutional plans and priorities in partnership with external groups that drive increasing enrollment, revenue generation, growth of market-share and overall college success.
• Work with key industry partners and manage their relationships with the college ensuring annual revenue, impact and service delivery are met.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local, national, and international corporations to identify partnership opportunities.
• Manage the Washtenaw Economic Club which includes membership cultivation and management, revenue generation, budget oversight and overall club satisfaction.
• Develop and implement an engagement strategy with key community-based organizations and businesses within the Greater Ann Arbor region that positions the college as a learning and/or training institution of choice. Coordinate internal representation at key signature annual events.
• Conduct research and provide expertise in developing agreements and contracts that support corporate engagement and economic development objectives.
• Represent the College and Division to community and professional organizations that are beneficial to aiding in the development of workforce development programs.
• Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends and make recommendations for continuous improvement by active involvement in relevant professional organizations and groups.
• Regular attendance on campus is required for this position.
• Other duties as assigned by the EVP and Chief Workforce and Community Development Officer or designee.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least five (5) years of full-time work experience in coordinating business and community outreach/engagement initiatives.
• Experience in leading and coordinating large scale organizational change initiatives from inception to execution with clear and measurable goals and objectives.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership, initiative, enthusiasm, team work and collaboration with faculty, staff and with external constituents in the execution of the responsibilities of the position.
• Proven interpersonal and relationship building skills for effective regular contact with diverse internal and external individuals and groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
