Position Summary:
Perform all Sound Engineer responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities include operating company sound and visual equipment for live and recorded events in a professional manner such that guests are provided a great experience.
Essential Functions:
1.Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Gun Lake Casino’s Service Standards at all times.
2.Responsible for safe operation and keeping of company assets in Sound Engineer control.
3.Responsible for all rules, policies and procedures related to related to safety and proper use of sound equipment and maintenance tools related to sound.
4.Candidate is primarily responsible for the production needs of Stage 131 performance events.
5.Responsible for operation of Gun Lake Casino sound board and lighting systems as well as provide occasional assistance with the Crestron Visual system. This is the primary front of house sound system for Stage 131 entertainment venue. This responsibility entails complete monitoring of sound production using a digital console.
6.Responsible for separate portable sound equipment used in company functions such as Top Gun presentations and other similar Team Member events.
7.Responsible for stage management of the performances at Stage 131 and any outdoor music events.
8.Responsible for operation of the DMX lighting console used at Stage 131.
9.Responsible for nightly wrap up report of the evening’s performance and objective rating of the performers act for future reference.
10.Performers’ primary contact on the floor and stage will be the sound engineer. Tact, professionalism, proper and other professional business practices and ethics are the professional conduct and responsibility of the Sound Engineer. Contract disputes are handled by the Entertainment Manager in charge.
11.Responsible for handling guest comments and complaints in professional and friendly manner.
12.Responsible for proper sound levels in accordance with established sound levels for Stage 131 and other events.
13.Sound is set up most evenings by the Sound Engineer as well as subsequent sound checks with performers.
14.Tear down of the set and as well as proper storage of property assets is accomplished after every performance by the Sound Engineer.
Minimum Qualifications:
1.Demonstrated successful sound engineer or sound technician experience of 2 year plus years.
2.Successful candidate will possess basic knowledge of equalization, compression, limiting, and miking of musical instruments including but not limited to: drums, bass, guitars, horns, stringed instruments, harmonica, piano, and vocals.
3.Understanding of lighting systems such as DMX is required.
4.Knowledge of sound pressure settings and detrimental impact of unmonitored sound pressure readings.
5.Demonstrated musician or musical background is preferred.
6.Entertainment Production degree (AA or BA) is advantageous but not required.
7.Ability to remain calm in pressure situations and handling guest complaints.
8.Ability to work flexible schedule as required to support day or evening performances.
9.Successful candidate will be a self-starter and punctual.
10.Must possess basic understanding of band and roadie lingo and practices.
Physical Requirements:
1.Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
2.Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
3.Ability to move and lift AV equipment and speakers up to 50lbs with or without assistance.
