Essential Functions:
- Provides support for equipment purchases, upgrades, and programming pertaining to PLCs and other control devices
- Provides programming, upgrades and support for Fanuc robotic cells
- Provides programming, upgrades and support for vision systems and the industrial network
- Develops alternate manufacturing processes
- Initiates, justifies, implements new capital equipment purchases
- Creates process improvement initiatives
- Uses Six Sigma and lean tools to improve processes
- Reviews and approves design/details of equipment purchases
- Represents the company with our customers
- Routinely updates management on status of projects
- Leads multiple projects
- Supports the manufacturing floor and engineering department on controls issues
- Creates and maintains process documentation Implement engineering changes
- Adheres to applicable Quality System requirements
- Will be working with Allen Bradley, Honeywell, Fanuc, GVI, Industrial servers, Cognex, Labview
Other Functions:
- Fully utilizes all applicable software & hardware (Allen Bradley, Lab View, Fanuc, VB.net, DOS, Vision Systems, Ignition, Honeywell, etc.)
- Designing and developing new control systems for new and current in house equipment
- Working with outside vendors and other sites to support controls work packages and company initiatives
- Building specifications around automation equipment and training others
- Responsible for capital equipment purchases and installations and building specifications around controls equipment
- Responsible for ensuring that the Industrial Machine network is supported and expandable for future programs
- Work with the Innovation Council to support new automation coming into the facility.
- Support legacy lines with automation upgrades and overhauls to help bridge the gap to newer technology.
- Automation expert to work with CI, Mfg. Engineering, and Facilities (Test Maintenance)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work with people
- Six Sigma and LEAN knowledge
- Project planning tools
- Knowledge on database management software skills and integration with machine PLCs
- Complete understanding of applicable manufacturing processes
- Advanced understanding of Root Cause Analysis
- Ability to apply advanced knowledge of capabilities studies, Gage R&R, and machine capability
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Strong computer skills
- Advanced programming knowledge of applicable software
- Solid Project Management skills
Education or Formal Training:
- Four year degree in technical/engineering discipline or other combinations of education, training, or experience to perform essential job functions.
