DeWys Manufacturing, Inc is seeking a Robot Operator for 2nd shift.
Qualifications
- High school education: 1-year minimum manufacturing or welding related experience preferred. Good working knowledge of metals, welding and grinding equipment is a plus. Must be capable of performing GMAW (MIG) or willing to learn. Must be capable of working with resource planning systems (bar coding) for proper recording of operations, time, and labor. Must be a team player continually demonstrating desired standardization, synchronization and disciplines required in robotic welding team, safety rules, work rules, travelers, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Needs to be able to communicate effectively with fellow team members and team facilitators as required and work well in a team environment.
- Needs to be able to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, weld symbols, set-up notes, work instructions, standard work, travelers, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedures. Needs to be able to properly complete travelers/paperwork for all jobs performed.
- Needs to have basic math skills and must be capable of using height gage, calipers, tape measure, etc.
- Prior welding or robot experience is preferred but not required.
Working conditions While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to welding fumes or airborne metal grinding particles. All ventilation equipment must be operating while operating a robotic cell. The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to loud. Hearing protection is required when welding or grinding, although not every area requires them to be worn. Safety glasses must always be worn by team members or side shields with Z87.1 rated prescription safety glasses. Welding helmets must always be worn when performing welding operations. When team members are performing grinding operations grind shield (or weld helmets) are required; however, masks are optional but provided. The shop floor is also air conditioned which helps keep it cool.
Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand. The team member must regularly lift and/or move parts up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. When workpieces exceed 50 pounds, team member must obtain assistance from fellow team members or uses a power industrial lift truck to move materials. Specific vision abilities required include good depth of perception to maintain shop safety.
