Job Description
Product Engineering Coordinator Description:
The Product Engineering Coordinator will be responsible for the activities related in the designs for Electrified Vehicle applications. This position entails working with power electronics suppliers to ensure corporate requirements and specifications. Support multiple assembly vehicle builds and parts sign offs. Create and maintain documentation outlining best practices supporting internal continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Overall representative from Chief group for Company build and test activities.
- Manages build complexity and delivery from trans lab in the context of overall program timing.
- Management across programs.
- First interface for perspective for all programs and build phases.
- First responder for parts fitment and issues
- Create and manage build book.
- Accepting, receipt, and dispersal in trans lab of returned EDM builds and PIMs(mis builds, failures, etc.).
- Organizing and tracking parts, returns, builds.
- Coordinating EOL test, first issue responder, scheduling, and timing. Providing EOL triage.
- EOL configuration management by EDM variant (cables, SW, dyne integration).
- Parts supply for test teams that need new parts.
- Planning, scheduling, and Parts tracking within engineering.
- First responder / triage for EDM issues reported from customer at Company (dyne/vehicle/etc).
- Attending to operator and technician concerns about products, helping to ensure issues are noted and lessons learned are implemented.
- Flashing PIMs at Company for EDM builds
- BOM Management including plan for every part
- Management of EDM spares for fleet
Product Engineering Coordinator Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM field
- 1-year experience in automotive (preferred in the product design release processes).
- Basic understanding of power electronics and devices
- Understanding of electrical engineering protocols and standards
- Highly motivated and self-starter
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to interface professionally with key customers, cross-functional teams and
- all levels of personnel/management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to manage multiple responsibilities while being mindful of deadlines
- Must be task oriented, detail oriented, and accurate with work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vehicle Assembly Plant experience
- Power electronics specifications Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and fabrication experience.
- Semi-conductor manufacturing knowledge
NOTES:
- 100% Onsite (4-5 days per week)
- Driving required - Not under normal work (may use a company vehicle to visit suppliers or plants)
- Amount of travel, if so where: Travel < 10%
