Required:
- This position requires knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- This position requires a minimum of five years of proposal writing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and communicate complex concepts is required.
- Expertise in business processes and developing collaborative work environments is required.
- Knowledge of software applications including Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel.
- Ability to “think outside the box” in order to generate alternative solutions for consideration, and to provide comprehensive risk/benefit analysis on those alternatives.
- Proactive advisory skills, project management experience and team leadership ability.
- Strong oral and written communication skills appropriate for consultation to all levels of management. Broad business process knowledge and focus.
- Government contracting experience.
- Project cost estimation and tracking expertise.
- Business case analysis and expertise.
- The ability to motivate and lead teams to accomplish department and company grant funding goals and objectives.
- May be required to be on call and/or travel out of town.
Preferred:
- Specialization in non-profit management.
- Utility industry experience.
- Certifications in any of the following:
- Project management certification (PMP),
- Grant Professional Certification (GPC)
- Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS)
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA)
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE)
- Professional experience in business process improvement.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of the working day. The person in this position needs to move about inside the office environment. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment. Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen. May need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/ below the knee level or reach above head. On occasion, may need to use stairs.
Constantly works in a temperature-controlled office environment.
Must successfully complete a background check, a substance screening and a physical (if applicable).
