How you'll make an impact:
As a member of the software development team which implements end-to-end solutions for automotive IP and satellite features for SiriusXM family of services for use in Automotive, Marine and Aviation systems. Participate in software development and support efforts for software architectures, analysis of alternate implementations/techniques, design, implementation, documentation, and assisting our customers integrating our technology into their systems. SW tools and products with both Satellite and IP connectivity. Provide clear communications and accountability within and between teams and enable the teams to overcome obstacles. Be the champion of new features and of execution excellence in achieving it.
What you'll do:
Assist in the development of advanced architectures and platforms for next generation software to control Satellite audio, data services and advance telematics features.
Assist in the development of advanced Infotainment and Telematics features for SiriusXM Radio receiver products.
Support the full software development lifecycle from initial feature definition through software release and in-field customer support.
Participate and support the design and development of software for the next generation software platform to enable Satellite and Streaming Audio, and Data Services and next generation Telematics features.
Perform analysis of internal and third-party product requirements and specifications, understanding of software framework architectures and designs to meet internal and external customer needs.
Participate in reviews sessions for new features and software implementation designs with the software team and other stakeholders.
Author software components, insuring they meet functional and quality requirements.
Utilize best practices in implementing software deliverables.
Understand all aspects of the software development lifecycle and apply data analytics to quantify and provide insight to process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of being a lead contributor on embedded development teams - designing, implementing, and testing sophisticated software architectures. This position requires a detail-oriented individual that is a self-starter who can work both independently and within a team environment.
What you'll need:
Bachelor's Degree Engineering, SW Engineering or equivalent experience required. MS Engineering is desired in SW engineering.
5-8 years' experience, primarily in software development projects.
Experience in a variety of programming languages/frameworks across the stack including Rust, WASM, Javascript, Java, Kotlin, React Native, Flutter.
Experience with Android Studio
Experience in embedded software development for Android, AAOS, or Linux.
Experience with Vega OS (Amazon) is preferred.
Experience with C++ is preferred.
Experience with advanced software development environments (IDE, compilers, operating systems, source management tools, CI/CD, and test tools).
Familiarity with embedded, real-time software with the ability to clearly articulate complex system requirements, and design considerations.
Experience / working knowledge in leading design and end user services in one or more of these areas:
Diverse platforms and programming languages which are used on those platforms including; Web, Mobile Services (Android), SELinux.
Consumer or Automotive audio and infotainment products (radio head units, navigation systems, MP3 connectivity, CD players, telematics systems, etc.)
Digital communications
