Responsibilities:
- Work with machine shop to design and build prototype parts
- Lead new product development projects from preliminary design to launch
- Provide technical direction to assembly personnel through hands on instruction
- Provide layouts, drawings and project documentation
- Develop experimental and prototype parts including follow-up and fabrication guidance
- Resolve engineering and production issues
- Match components design and function to vendor and manufacturing process capabilities
- Hands-on training for sales and service of coming products and changes
- Utilize CAD system proficiently to generate engineering drawings
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of drafting standards
- Provide technical expertise to purchasing and quality control to answer supplier questions
- Visit locations in Saginaw area to review test units in the field
Preferred Skills/Education:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering with engineering degree
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational capabilities
- Ability to produce easily understood documents
- Manage multiple projects at one time
- Proficient in CAD software (Solidworks)
- 2+ years of experience
