We serve a diverse customer base including automotive and consumer products. We are a full-service metal stamper taking customers from design to the completed part. Our in-house tool room builds tools from simple to sophisticated. Our production expertise ranges from critical tolerance engineered components to a standard fitting line.
Position Summary:
As a valued member of our Leadership Team, our Press Room Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of our press department while maintaining established cycles and scrap percentages. The Press Room Supervisor enjoys an engaging balance between supervising, performing set-ups and processing functions, and working as a member of our Leadership Team to implement corporate strategy.
Position supervises 15-25 staff members over two different shifts and 18 presses. Pay structure includes a performance based bonus.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Plan, organize and delegate work assignments to meet production requirements.
- Hire, train, develop, oversee, review and discipline production personnel.
- Oversee the maintenance of established cycles and scrap percentages.
- Supervise and assure proper mold set-up and subsequent operations.
- Complete pressroom paperwork and related tasks.
- Work as a member of the Leadership Team to implement corporate strategy
- Recommend and implement processes to improve the quality of components, to increase efficiencies and to minimize scrap.
- Aid production personnel in setting up molds, hoppers, and auxiliary equipment and in cycling in machines.
- Aid production personnel in general material handling requirements (i.e. filling and cleaning hoppers, emptying grinders, labeling and returning materials, etc.).
Physical Job Requirements:
- Ability to spend 90% of the work day walking or standing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. alone.
- Essential job duties require reaching, bending and grasping.
- Able to read blue prints, calipers, micrometers, machine shop gages and indicators.
Qualifications:
- Must have experience with progressive and transfer die setting and press operation - 400-1500 ton.
- Must understand machine process control and metal stamping technology.
- Must have knowledge of metrology.
- Basic computer skills.
- 5 or more years of supervisory experience preferred.
