Triage LPN
Position Summary
The Triage Licensed Practical Nurse is a key member of the patient care team! The Triage LPN is responsible for assuring that communication with each patient is handled in a professional and tactful manner. When appropriate, patient concerns and/or symptoms are assessed and triaged using nursing processes and approved guidelines in order to assist in obtaining the appropriate level of care required to safely meet the patient's medical needs.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired from specialized training such as that acquired in one year of college, technical, vocational, or trade school in a Licensed Practical Nurse program with relevant course work in Pharmacology; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a hospital or ambulatory care clinic; may require computer experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Triage experience required.

Summary of Health Risks
Exposure to human blood, serum, and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions; TB risk or work within three (3) feet of patients in a health care setting; wear a respirator.
