- Must have completed forty-five (45) semester hours of college level course work from an accredited college or university (or equivalent quarter hours); OR
Be a high school graduate or have successfully completed the General Education Development test (GED); AND have at least one of the following:
- Possess a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) certification from an accredited college or university; OR
- Demonstrate 6 months of work experience in GIS, Equalization Department, Planning Department, Building Inspections, or Real Estate; OR
- Possess 15 or more credit hours in direct GIS classes; OR
- Have at least six months of experience in an Assessor’s office; OR
- Possess a Michigan Certified Assessing Technician (MCAT) or Michigan Certified Assessing Officer (MCAO) certificate or higher Assessment Administration certificate or possess a valid Appraisal License issued by the State of Michigan.
- Must obtain a Michigan Certified Assessing Technician (MCAT) certification within one (1) year of hire date to maintain employment.
