Summary of Position: | Reporting to the Executive Director of International Education, the International Recruiter and Admission Coordinator serves as a primary contact for potential international students interested in Ferris State University. This person will be a key university representative to implement the recruitment strategy and assist with orientation and student/campus programming. In country and international will be required.
The anticipated start date for this position is April 2024. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. | |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | • Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) through the SEVIS immigration system • Provide admission reports that include admission and applicant numbers • In collaboration with the Assistant Director, manage the recruitment agent network • Identify potential agreements with educational institutions, governmental authorities and corporations with a focus on beneficial outcomes for the institution • Cultivate relationships with partners (current and potential) and other educational professionals who work with international students • Assist with the development and maintenance of the content regarding international student admission requirements on the university website, marketing materials, and other forms of communication • Compile reports reflecting figures with regard to international student enrollment • Perform evaluations of academic credentials in order to make an admissions determination • Assist in building effective communication plans • Identify and follow-up with prospective international students and families • Develop strategies and manage activities to meet the university's international recruitment objectives • Engage in recruitment efforts in assigned territory to achieve enrollment goals
• Assist with creating effective marketing materials abroad • Perform evaluations of academic credentials and supporting documents in order to make an admission determination for graduate and undergraduate admissions • Follow up with admitted students • Attend regular admission meetings that provide admission updates and academic requirements • Advise international students through the enrollment process • Assist in the orientation for all incoming international students • Represent the school as a recruiter at various international recruiting events (in country travel will also be required) • Supervise student employees as assigned. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with university policies and applicable laws • Assist with international student and campus programming • Interpret and analyze data from a variety of sources to determine the most effective utilization of available resources • Maintain an understanding of the various factors that affect international recruitment; as approved by a supervisor
