This position functions as a first line manager in a complex work area. It supervises the activities of Information Technology staff, both FTE and contract, that are involved in the development of highly complex and sensitive computer applications in a volatile environment. The Data Warehouse (DW) Team is responsible for all aspects of requirements definition, ETL development, and BI development in the context of DHS Benefits / Eligibility/ Services data. The DW team has responsibility for supporting reporting and analysis around various program areas. The position interacts with and leads the team in providing information and solutions to DHS Office of Inspector General, Office of Quality Assurance, Accounting, Budget, Policy, and may other offices within DHS, CEPI, MDE, LARA, State Budget Office, Legislature, Media, and Administrative and Court Hearings. It is also the responsibility of this position to select and train staff, conduct annual performance reviews, and ensure professional development of staff. Currently the DW is transitioning from the waterfall methodology to agile practices and this position will be responsible for taking ownership of the teams transition, being a positive force for change, and ensuring staff support throughout this and future transitions.
