Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Sr. Facilities Technician to join our team. As a Sr. Facilities Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our corporate office and R&D Facility, supporting our commitment to providing a safe, functional, and welcoming work environment for our employees.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform routine HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, locksmith, and painting work to maintain buildings.
Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for maintenance, repair, and renovation projects, ensuring work is completed according to specifications, on time, and within budget.
Move and relocate office furniture; make adjustments to desks, chairs, and files
Inspect the building envelope systems, including roofs, windows, and drains
Inspect and repair conditions of the interior of buildings, carpet, furnishings, wall coverings etc.
Oversee all lighting systems
Repair locking systems on doors, files, cabinets, and lockers
Interface with/oversee all contractors performing work at all facilities to ensure work quality/completeness is aligned with company policy and objectives
Ensure facilities and buildings are compliant with relevant municipal, state, and federal agencies
Requisition building maintenance supplies, materials and equipment; monitor inventory; load and unload supplies
Prepare cost estimates for maintenance activities; maintain maintenance records and files
Respond to work requests courteously; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner
Provide back-up to shipping and receiving, market, and front desk functions as needed
Be available for on-call duties on a rotating basis
Participate in safety and job-related training as required
Maintain the facility ticketing system to ensure the timely completion of service requests and preventative maintenance items
Maintain document storage. Ensure we are properly storing documents in accordance with the Document Retention Policy
Assist the Facilities Manager with any special projects, project management, and budgeting activities
Drive value through cost savings measures, and sound business decisions
May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.
Education and Qualifications:
High school diploma with 5-10 years office experience
Prior general maintenance in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC
Prior mailroom experience or shipping and receiving experience
Proficient in the use of personal computers
Knowledge of mailroom/postal equipment and regulations
Knowledge of general safety procedures related to generic maintenance tasks
Customer service skills
Mechanical skills commensurate with providing general to complex maintenance and repairs
Must have good verbal communication and technical writing skills
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be able to engage, in a professional manner, different people on a day-to-day basis to include company executives, employees, vendors, and clients
Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary
Must be customer-focused

Professional Office Environment
Must wear proper personal protection equipment per company policy while in technical areas or as specific tasks require
Travel to other area facilities or when required
Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
Must be physically able to perform the tasks & duties throughout this job description as well as able to lift up to 50 pounds
