Job Description **_Summary_:** The Paramedic II PIPP drives an ambulance to transport ill or injured patients to the appropriate facility. ***Responsibilities***: * Ensures safe transportation of ill or injured patients. * Maintains ambulance in clean condition and working order. Performs regular routine inspections prior to each shift to ensure safe operation of the vehicle. * Assists with stocking the ambulance with needed supplies and ensures on-board equipment is in working order. * Performs the duties of an EMT or Paramedic, depending on qualifications, as needed. **_Education & Experience:_** * Must be a graduate of a paramedic program. **_Licenses & Certifications:_** * Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required at start date. * Basic Life Support certification required at start date. * Must have valid license with 5 year driving record. Good driving record required and in compliance with driving policy. Must be approved by current insurance carrier. * Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required at hire date. * In lieu of PHTLS, must obtain International Trauma Life Support certification within one year of hire date. * In lieu of ITLS, must obtain Prehospital Trauma Life Support certification within one year of hire date.
