Performs manufacturing engineering work related to the planning, design and implementation of methods or processes to improve manufacturing production. Interacts with manufacturing and engineering departments in the design & development launch, new processes and the improvement of current product and processes. Leads the continuous improvement efforts in the optimization of manufacturing equipment, tooling and automation in machine department.
What You'll Do:
- Administers all technical matters
- Prepares machines for prototype installation
- Changes over revolving jobs
- Supports all technical matters for machining lines and automated equipment
- Communicates with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Technician to detect problems
- Executes corrective solutions to fix imperfections
- Takes on tasks assigned by Technical Supervisor
- Performs CNC machines start up and shutdown
- Changes worn tools, edits programs and performs dimensional analysis
- Performs troubleshooting of CNC machines and automated equipment
- Inspects parts for issues or imperfections and detect source of the matter
- Performs continuous improvement activities related to tooling, fixturing, process flow, and assembly / automation
- Provides assistance, coaching and training to new and existing colleagues
- Responds to quality and operator machining issues
- Supports the plant to make process improvements to achieve production efficiency and quality
- Ensures a “Zero defects” quality on product
- Provides required data reports and system backups
- Obtains parts needed for new production
- Loads new programs for new production
- Works toward continually improving processes
- Learns operations and troubleshoots of new machines
- Familiarity with CMM reports and able to read blue prints
- Loads and installs different jobs into existing machines that have changing tasks
- Adjusts machine programming when necessary

What We Need from You:
- Experience operating a CNC machine/secondary machine
- Familiarity with quality control gauges
- Understanding of machine set up sheets and process control plans
- Ability to deburr machined parts using handheld deburring and power deburring tools, and to wash machined parts using automatic washing or manual washing equipment
- Understanding of the use of handheld gauges and ability to use basic gauging and measuring equipment
- Identify defects and inspect parts using process control plans
- Ability to start and operate all secondary equipment from power off to cycle start
- Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of time
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects up to 55 pounds regularly
- Ability to read, write, perform basic math calculations, and complete visual inspections
