Qualified applicants must possess the following:
-Bachelor's degree or higher in early childhood education or child development (18 semester hours must be in child development)
-A minimum of 2 semester hours in child care administration from an accredited college or university, or, a minimum of 3.0 CEU's in child care administration.
-3 credit class in infant and toddler development or 4.5 CEU's in infant and toddler development
-Current certification in First Aid and CPR (infant thru adult).
-Valid Michigan's driver’s license.
In addition,
A minimum of 3 years of successful management experience working as a director of a medium to large early childhood center (6 weeks to 6 year old);
-Budgeting experience; Strong computer skills;
-Blood borne pathogen training;
-Beyond Back to Sleep and Shaken Baby Syndrome Training
Further, the incumbent must demonstrate strong leadership skills; display excellent customer service. Must have strong knowledge of State of Michigan licensing and accreditation standards.
