Permanent job - 90 day contract to direct hire
Must have experience working in a manufacturing company as a Designer
Must know Solidworks CAD soft.
Plastic background would be helpful since will design dunnage, trays etc. for auto parts
Seeking min. 5 yrs. hands-on experience
Strong Communication Skill is a must (hope to move this person into a lead design experience.)
Responsibilities and Duties:
Designs, projects as assigned on the CAD system, Solidworks
- Design and detail returnable molded plastic trays, totes, containers, and pallets for automotive and non-automotive industrial material handling.
- Using scope of work inputs, designer will originate and develop the fundamental geometry, shape, and sizes of the molded product and/or assembly.
- Interfaces with project managers, sales engineers and customers as needed.
- Participate in CFT design reviews.
- CAD modeling and detailing technique will be done in accordance with CTI best practices and standards for parametric solid modeling.
- Overtime work may be required contingent on workload.
Qualifications and Experience for the position:
- Strong exp using Solidworks. Proficiency demonstration may be required.
- Basic knowledge of injection molding and plastic product design, tooling, materials, and manufacturing processes is preferred
- Basic knowledge of plastic assembly techniques and methodologies is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of mechanisms and kinematics is a plus.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, in an extremely fast paced environment.
- Optimistic team player with good problem solving skills and a cooperative attitude
