Position: Part-time Elementary School Special Education
Paraprofessional Position, 3 hours per day, school year position when students are present.
Requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma
- Must meet Highly Qualified requirements
- Ability to relate with staff/students
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to assist with student’s personal and social needs
- Demonstrate good attendance
- Ability to work with individuals and small groups
- Ability to demonstrate support to program and policies
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to relate well with parents and students
- Ability to control student behavior
- Ability to handle stressful and demanding situations
- Ability to implement individual physical and occupational therapy plans
- Ability to assist students with toileting and feeding
- Ability to assist loading and unloading wheel chairs from a bus or van
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an environment conducive to learning
- Supervise/carry out teacher planned instructional program
- Demonstrate and perform as an effective model for appropriate classroom conduct
- Duties as assigned by teacher/principal
- Monitor and assist special needs students
- Implement individual therapy plans
- May include recess and lunchroom supervision
