Position: Senior Center Coordinator

Status: On-Call
Classification/Salary: Starting at $14.00 / hour
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Performs intermediate semiskilled work coordinating day-to-day operations of designated Senior Center, and
related work as apparent or assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Establishes a friendly, pleasant, and supportive environment by meeting and greeting seniors; keeping them
informed of services and programs, menus, events, and other matters of interest.
• Plans, schedules, implements, and directs a variety of social, recreational, and educational activities and
programs geared to meet varied and unique needs and interests of seniors.
• Performs general office duties.
• Maintains client records for home delivered meals program.
• Responsible for serving congregate meals and taking reservations. Prepares tables, seating, and serving line.
Ensures proper portion control and sanitary conditions.
• Recruits and trains volunteers for the home delivered meal program and to assist in congregate meal duties.
• Ensures that after the completion of the meal, all food and trash are removed, and all fixtures, cooking and
serving utensils, and equipment are clean.
• Responsible for packing meals, verifying shipments, performing follow-up inquiries with clients and making
referrals to caseworkers when necessary; transports seniors as needed.
MINIMUM OR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimal experience, previous working experience with the elderly population preferred.
Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications within 6 months of hire
Must possess a valid Stat of Michigan driver’s license.
