Job description:
The business engineer is responsible for scoping, researching, and developing an implementation map for Community Financial Credit Union’s member-facing digital portfolio. This individual will support cross-departmental projects initiated by the executive team, provide a nimble assessment of potential solutions, and identify the resources necessary to bring these solutions to life.
Compensation for this position has a starting amount of $82,300 annually but has the opportunity to increase with relevant work experience and transferrable skills.
A Day in the life of a business engineer can look like:
- Work closely with the executive team (eTeam) in identifying small- to medium-sized digital enhancements capable of delivering a disproportionately positive impact to Community Financial Credit Union’s strategy.
- Devise, plan, and implement innovative methods and practices meant to offer novel solutions.
- Collaborate closely with the PMO, IT, and Insights team to ensure that all projects are planned and executed within the appropriate timeframe.
- Scope, size, and gather requirements and specifications to ensure projects are vetted for prompt execution and are structured with the appropriate risk provisions for the credit union’s business objectives.
- Lead the Business Design Developers through execution of high impact, fast-tracked projects as determined by CFCU’s 6-week Pace & Purpose strategic sprints.
- Influence, negotiate, and act as a change agent to implement complex and innovative process improvements that make sustainable contributions requiring the engagement of people across multiple lines of business.
- Support the eTeam with weekly updates while identifying vulnerabilities in the plan and execution.
- Lead the business design team and activities related to improvement opportunities or large initiatives, including leading current state process discovery sessions, gathering requirements, modeling processes, analyzing impacts, and supporting the implementation of improvements.
- Provide analysis to align business strategies, capabilities, and processes with applications, data, and technology.
- Identify and support the development and implementation of performance metrics and measurement systems supporting process design changes.
- Act as the primary liaison between the eTeam, PMO, IT, and retail banking workflows in the areas of development and launch.
- Perform other duties as directed by leadership.
What you bring to the table:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three years of experience in data analytics, BI analysis, and development.
- Three years of experience leading a team of developers.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to create fact-based recommendations in order to positively influence and achieve desired results
- Excellent relationship management skills to work successfully across the credit union and to quickly gain the trust and confidence
- Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to the resolution of contract issues
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain contractual provisions in easy-to-understand business terms
- Excellent organization, time and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail.
