CJIS-LEIN Entry & Live-Scan Technician

• $18.76/ Hour
• This is a part-time/temporary position working a maximum of 1,000 hours per calendar year. It does not include any benefits.

Duties:

• Receives and reviews qualified court orders to ensure data accuracy, then enters them into LEIN/NCIC in compliance with CJIS requirements.
• Maintains organized records of orders and corresponding entries, conducts routine audits to verify validity, and corrects or updates errors as needed.
• Cancels executed or expired orders in accordance with Court and CJIS guidelines and returns files as directed.
• Enters Criminal Case History (CCH) data into Live-Scan systems, captures ten-print fingerprints, and submits electronic files to CJIS while recording returned Case Transaction Numbers.
• Collaborates with the Trial Court Security Officer Supervisor, MSP-CJIS, and Information Systems to perform maintenance, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement solutions.
• Assists in training Court personnel on LEIN certification and Live-Scan operation.
• Compiles and analyzes data to produce reports, manuals, and other materials, and works with the Trial Court Security Officer Supervisor to review and resolve related issues.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a Certified CJIS/LEIN Operator CJIS/LEIN and/or a Terminal Agency Coordinator is preferred.

Special Requirements:

• Must maintain Michigan CJIS/LEIN Operator Certifications throughout the course of employment.
• The dexterity and mobility to properly scan fingerprint images is necessary for the successful completion of job duties.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• General knowledge of criminal justice procedures and terminology and experience with a variety of computer applications.
