Interlochen Center for the Arts is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious School Bus Driver to join our team. The School Bus Driver will be responsible for driving a variety of vehicles, including buses, vans, and cars to transport students, faculty, guests, candidates, and performers around campus and to off-site locations. Essential Duties:
- Safely operate various vehicles, adhering to traffic rules, regulations, and Interlochen's safety protocols.
- Transport students, faculty, guests, candidates, and performers to and from designated locations, both on and off campus.
- Ensure the comfort and safety of passengers, providing excellent customer service and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Inspect vehicles regularly to ensure they are in proper working condition and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, mileage, and trip logs.
- Adhere to schedules and routes, adjusting for traffic and weather conditions as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, colleagues, and passengers, providing timely updates and addressing any concerns.
- Ensure the cleanliness and appearance of vehicles, both inside and out.
- Follow Interlochen's guidelines for handling emergencies and incidents during transportation.
- Collaborate with the Transportation team to optimize route efficiency and provide input on operational improvements.
- Adhere to a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, on-call, and holidays, as transportation needs may vary.
