Allegan General Hospital seeks a Relief Cardiac Sonographer to work for our Radiology / Ultrasound Department.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, but may not be limited to:
1. Perform Cardiac Echo examinations within their scope of training. Be willing to
crosstrain if deemed necessary by radiology leadership.
2. Assist or performs the tasks of patient transfer and patient preparation.
3. Process images digitally.
4. Assist physician in administering medications for advanced studies.
5. Provide sonogram and oral or written summary of findings to physician for use in
medical diagnosis.
6. Perform clerical duties as needed including accurate and complete charges for all
procedures.
7. Assist in the image management system
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE, but may not be limited to:
- Completion of a formal two-year or associate degree program in diagnostic medical sonography
- Must be approved by the Joint Review Committee on Education and the ARDMS
- Must successfully complete the number of CEU credits required by registry in order to maintain appropriate registration.
- Should possess keyboard skills and be able to perform basic computer functions.
- Certification in Basic Life Support.
- Must be registered by ARDMS as a registered diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS), or registered vascular technologist (RVT), or registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer (RDCS).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred
