Description:
Support and actively engage in company growth, goals and objectives as it relates to the financial well-being of the organization through assisting and supporting the Accounting and Manufacturing Teams with responsibilities in daily, monthly and annual accounting or costing tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the production of periodic financial reports and ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
- Maximize return on financial assets by establishing, maintaining, and ensuring utilization of financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
- Achieve target {budget} objectives by reviewing expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating and following up on corrective actions.
- Benchmark best practices to assist in evaluation of current processes and recommend changes to improve operational efficiencies.
- Responsible for the total cost of production and products by assessing the variable costs of each step of production as well as fixed costs.
- Lead and coach accounting team.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Regularly monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and provide information to external auditors.
- Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping current on existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
- Ensure operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements, service contracts, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Coordination of team projects to automate processes and implement new technologies.
- Audit transactions to verify proper policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or commensurate degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with multiple site or entity financial reporting, month-end closes, standard costing, Internal Audits and Internal Controls.
- SAP or other similar ERP system experience preferred. Sage X3 experience is a plus.
