PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the start-up and continuing operation of a 24x5 Solar manufacturing facility.
Responsible for manage, train and direct maintenance/facilities technicians, engineering techs, process engineers and quality engineers/technicians.
Maintenance responsibilities:
- Responsible for operating and maintaining all manufacturing equipment needed
- Monitor and report equipment performance and KPIs.
- Assume lead on CIP for equipment modifications and enhancements.
- Manage project change control for assigned vendors.
- Execute acceptance tests at vendor shop floor and Suniva factory.
- Develop and manage the preventive maintenance program
- Assist in equipment start up and successful transition to operations team.
- Responsible to interface with other Company, customer and supplier representatives.
- Maintains effective communications levels and fosters Team Building.
- Adheres to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
Facilities & Safety responsibilities:
- Responsible for the preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance necessary to keep this maintain the facility and campus. (This includes all electrical, mechanical, structural, and water systems apart from the direct production equipment inside the plant. Operate and maintain all plant facilities including: offices and grounds)
- Develop and implement safety and environmental compliance program to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions, utilizing knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, psychology, and industrial environmental health and safety laws.
- Examine plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety precautions have been included.
- Tour plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Determine requirements for safety clothing and devices, and designs, builds, and installs, or directs installation of safety devices on machinery
- Conduct and coordinate safety and first aid training to educate workers about safety and environmental policies, laws, and practices.
- Investigate accidents to prevent recurrence and prepares accident reports.
- Manages Maintenance/Facilities/Safety budget.
- Provides support to Manufacturing Operations to achieve quality and output objectives
- Support a program of continuous improvement consistent with company business objectives .
Qualifications: Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- BS Degree required in a technical field (Engineering preferred).
- 7-10 years of experience in equipment engineering
- 7 to 10 years of experience in equipment build through installation and production.
- 5 to 10 years experience in Facilities Management
- Proven experience in projects in new factory construction settings.
- Experience implementing new technology and equipment into production.
- Must have ability to modify and create PLC logic programing
- Experience with AutoCAD is a must.
- Experience with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks is a plus.
- Experience with optics, lasers, PLC's and precision alignment equipment is a plus. Ability to program robots preferred.
- Experience on Komax Xcell 3400 stringers, Nisshinbo PVL2235c, RTV, Pottants and Mississippi Conveyor Systems is a plus.
- Experience working in Plant Safety and Environmental is required
- Wide Knowledge of MIOSHA regulations
- Experience in Photovoltaics or other Semiconductor manufacturing
- Experience working in ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 or equivalent is desirable.
- Experience with implementing or sustaining lean manufacturing practices is desirable.
