Primary Responsibilities:
Support the startup and continuous operation of the 24x5 new solar module manufacturing facility.
Track and respond to the daily yield of assigned areas of responsibility. React to out-of-control events utilizing SPC controls.
Responsible for overall efficiency of the factory. React to drops in efficiency.
Monitor the productivity of the assigned areas of responsibility. React when production volumes do not meet established goals.
Design and execute trials to improve yield, efficiency and productivity. Create and maintain documents in accordance with the quality control system.
Create and maintain work instructions for the operators.
Train and certify operators.
Train engineering technicians to certify operators.
Support maintenance, driving to root cause of equipment issues.
Lead problem-solving teams, following the 8-D process.
Lead efforts to reduce costs and improve yield.
Work with vendors to improve products and processes.
Qualifications: Skills/Knowledge/Experience
Bachelor degree in Engineering. Master degree preferred.
Lean Manufacturing and SPC required
At least five (5) years of experience in process engineering.
Excellent computer skills. Proficient with MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint. Knowledge of JMP preferred.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Semiconductor or Solar experience a big plus
