Neighborhood Ventures in Grand Rapids is seeking a half-time Economic Development Assistant to work with small business owners to support their business needs, and highlight our neighborhoods.

Projects you may work on:

• Provide outreach and technical assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs.
• Assist with neighborhood business district organizing activities.
• Complete other activities that advance the success of our programming and promote vibrant neighborhood business districts in Grand Rapids.

What they require:

• College graduate or degree seeking (Graduate-level preferred), otherwise similar work experience.
• Major area of studies in Public and Non profit Administration, or Business Administration.
• A strong work ethic and professional appearance.
• Ability to communicate in a business environment and among diverse populations. 
• Ability to work independently under well-defined responsibilities.
• Preference may be given to candidates who can speak and write Spanish.

An immediate opportunity exists for this entry level position to accommodate FY2015 projects. Competitive compensation package. This ½-time opportunity may expand to a full-time opportunity.
