We are looking for a Seed and Agronomy Specialist to support our Agronomy Sales Representatives and grower customers with the most current seed technology, traits and genetics information. You must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and ethical, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. This opportunity has growth potential and offers mobility within CHS.
You will:
Work with sales agronomists and customer growers in providing information about seed technology, traits and genetics.
Keep current on technical information related to position.
Provide technical agronomic support to growers and sales agronomists by providing agronomic information and implementing fertility, crop protection, crop health and seed product trials.
Assist sales agronomists and growers in making product placement recommendations.
Promote, establish and maintain effective public relations and lasting relationships through customer education, grower meetings, and the awareness/education of new products and seed.
Spend majority of the time in the field with sales agronomists and growers to earn business.
Promote the adoption and use of CHS precision agriculture services to better serve our growers, increase market share, and evaluate seed and other agronomic products.
Promote safety in the workplace and act in a safe manner at all times.
Work with patrons in a courteous and professional manner.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: (required)
Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Ag Econ, Ag Business, Ad Education, Ag Engineering, Soil or Weed Science
1-3 years of experience in the agronomy/seed business environment
Proficient with MS Office
Ability to work extended hours in-season
Ability to spend periods of time sitting, standing, bending, twisting, squatting, walking and lifting up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications: (desired)
CCA Certification
