Role Purpose: The test lab manager ensures organizational initiatives, meeting operational goals in relation to safety, quality, on-time delivery of products, productivity, and continuous improvement activities.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Reports daily on department KPI’s along with other production metrics such as Health & Safety, Quality and 5S audits.
- Works with the production team to meet on time delivery to the customer.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Responsible for the coordination of test equipment builds as well as ATD integration assembly and testing in accordance with ISO 9001 & 17025.
- Promoting a safety-first work environment that maintains compliance with all company protocols while adhering State and Federal Laws and Regulations
- Maintain a cross-trained staff of technicians to maximize flexibility and reduce the impact of employee outages.
- Manages departmental performance measures and provides regular progress reports to management.
- Provide support to the engineering group as needed for prototyping, formulating/conducting test plans and DOEs.
- Ensures preventative maintenance tasks and equipment calibrations are performed in a timely fashion and in accordance with established protocols.
- Ensure work instructions are up to date and staff properly trained in a timely manner.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance reviews; coaching employees; problem and conflict resolution.
