This position is responsible for assisting the VP of Programs in planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the overall projects and schedules of Taylor’s Special Care Services. The Area Manager will provide oversight for home managers, assistant managers and direct care workers to ensure specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule as mandated. The Area Manager is a full-time salaried employee with full benefits. As with all staff positions, the Area Manager is an “at-will” employee of Taylor’s Special Care Services, Inc., and may be terminated or reassigned without cause or justification. This position reports directly to the VP of Programs.

All persons working within Taylor’s Special Care Services are required to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times and comply with the standards set forth in the Employee Handbook. All employees are required to support the mission of Taylor’s Special Care Services in all activities and act as ambassadors.

• Develops an effective plan and schedule for completion of projects following a logical pattern for utilization of resources.
• Develops schedule, performs management duties and oversees scheduling to ensure that coverage is available at all times in all programs/facilities as necessary.
• Provides scheduling reports to the VP of Programs and the administration on a weekly basis including overtime reports.
• Communicates with Home Managers to ensure day-to-day projects are dealt with accordingly, helps with their outcomes in order to provide on-going reports to the administration. Follows up on critical consumer and staff related issues.
• Oversee day-to-day projects and operations of the programs/homes to include oversight of functional areas of the direct care work operations.
• Provides oversight and monitoring of TSCS programs/homes, perform audits (i.e., quality) as mandated to ensure smooth functioning of the programs/homes. Follows up on monthly findings and submits appropriate reports to the administration weekly.
• Assists in identifying service delivery problems and actively participates in the planning and implementation of necessary corrective action. Assists in preparation of audits and surveys conducted by external entities.
• Reviews compliance audit reports and corrective action plans and conducting follow up reviews.
• Provides effective supervision to Home Managers and Direct Care Workers to include responsibility and accountability for quality of care and performance for each program/home.
• Participates in strategic direction, goal setting and performance measurement of the agency’s enterprise. Attends staff and management team meetings to ensure effective communication at all levels in addition to training and education of staff.
• Works closely with the administration and assists in implementation of company’s goals, objectives, and strategic plans.
• Supervises staff and checks on any reported difficulties to correct issues or other reported deficiencies.
• Oversees client records to ensure they are clear, concise, and complete based on company expectations. Reviews client progress logs, personal care logs, services logs, medication logs and other pertinent documentation, conducts random reviews prior to and after billing to ensure dates of services provided coincide with billed episodes of care and that the bills accurately reflect the services that were provided. Identifies necessary corrective action as necessary.
• Assures all annual paperwork is up to date and updated as necessary including but not limited to treatment plans, guardianship, physicals, consent, authorizations, etc.
• Participates in client intake sessions and assists as necessary in completion of orientation, intakes and assessments.
• Completes and/or witnesses the writing of supervisory notes for employees violating company’s policies and procedures. Follows up to obtain documentation such as doctor’s notes, excuses, etc., regarding absences and the completion of relevant time off requests and scheduling forms.
• Determines requirements for residents; reviews financial transactions (i.e., allowance), abilityto-pay accuracy, ensures the accurate completion of such transactions in compliance to applicable regulations; monitors expenditures of budgeted funds approved by the VP of Programs for programs/homes and/or administration.
