Job Summary: The Process Engineer will implement the standard process control for all existing and new injection molding tools within our facility. The Process Engineer will be responsible for training technicians and die setters in how to be efficient in their day-to-day responsibilities. The responsibilities of this position are listed below as essential duties.
Essential Duties and Requirements of the Job:
Including the following, other duties may be assigned.
Evaluate and correct all high scrap issues on all jobs.
Responsible for equipment inventory pertinent to performing all tasks at hand.
Establish the processing standards for all existing and new tooling.
Establishing training and continuous improvement with technicians and die setters with regards to their daily activities. This entails being fully capable of performing their job duties during training or absences. (See specific job description for more detailed information)
Responsible for process systems in each facility including process monitoring.
Responsible for ensuring process monitor books are kept up to date with best practices documented.
Responsible to yearly capability of presses on all injection molding presses in the facility.
Drive continuous improvement in the presses with the Maintenance department.
Responsible for sampling of products assigned to their buildings.
Ensures that molding operations are meeting the customer’s quality expectations while falling within the guidelines of the job’s quotation.
Ability to troubleshoot, start up, shut down, and program all robots within the facility.
Support the operations by adhering to company policies and procedures throughout the workday.
Facilitate a clean, organized and safe work environment (5s).
Support TS 16949 daily throughout all levels of management.
Meets Goals established by Manufacturing Manager.
Routinely provide an organized delivery of information to the Manufacturing Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Must be able to interact with employees, customers and vendors in a cooperative, respectful and professional manner.
Organizational skills; the ability to utilize filing systems for records maintenance.
May require additional schooling for knowledge updates as it applies to current or future technology.
3-5 years experience in process engineering and strength in mold design.
Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field or equivalent experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical, problem solving skills.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts beneficial.
Must be willing to support any shift Ability to follow through with little direction.
Creative, innovative, and strategic thinking.
