We are seeking a sales professional to join our Lowell, MI team. As a Territory Sales Manager, you will be responsible for all sales for customers as listed in an assigned territory. Performing daily tasks needed to keep customers buying Attwood products.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Travel to assigned accounts to present products and programs. Make sales presentations to the accounts and coordinate representative activity before, during and after the trips.
Negotiate terms of programs in accordance with corporate guidelines.
Develop an approved annual sales plan that will drive sales for the assigned territory
Ensure that all activities are compliant with Corporate Guideline
Assist Product Development teams in gathering VOC on new products and concepts
Provide monthly and annual sales forecasts for assigned accounts.
Develop training materials working with the Category Directors and Marketing to train customer sales personal and other appropriate personal on Attwood products
Coordinate needs for and participate in show set-up, tear-down, and booth “manning” during shows as requested
Develop approved annual sales goals and manage the activity of sales representative who call on assigned accounts. Provide them with guidance and support as needed in the field. Monitor the representative performance and give annual and quarterly feedback. Make recommendations for new sales programs, agency changes, etc.
Prepare annual quotes and new product presentations for all assigned customers. Work with Customer Service doing order follow-up and communications with representatives and customers
Provide an annual forecast of marketing requirements to the Marketing Manager to ensure customer timelines are met.
Work with Customer Service to help process warranty claims, returns, and credits for key aftermarket accounts.
Gather information for use in development of sales campaigns and promotions, competitive pricing and forecasting.
Assist in sales meeting preparation and participate in these meetings where applicable.
Drive new account growth through research and help determine obsolete accounts deletion.
What you bring to the winning team:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or technical field or equivalent experience required.
10+ years of related experience in sales, required.
Knowledge of pleasure boating industry and demonstrated ability to understand mechanical application of marine products strongly desired.
must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to project image of professional salesperson.
Strong presentation skills.
Commitment to understanding your customers’ needs and then providing solutions for them in a real world environment is critical for success.
Ability to travel (50%).
