Description:
Maintains a complex database system, and is responsible for the development, maintenance, and integrity of the physical data structure, and the efficiency and performance of the system. Responsible for installation of database software, design of physical database layout, and creation and configuration of new databases.
Responsibilities:
1)Design and maintain complex database platform
2)Develop database standards and best practices
3)Review new database options
4)Provide input on selection and use of database monitoring tools
5)Work closely with Hardware, Network and Storage experts to ensurethe best performance and design
6)Power Shell and Shell scripting and support
Minimum 7 years building and supporting Oracle and SQL Server ina large organizationMinimum Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience of a minimum of10 years. Strong experience in shell scriptingStrong experience in Oracle 9i, 10g, 11gExperience in ASM, OracleRAC, GRID Control, RMAN, Partitioning,and Performance TuningClearunderstanding of SAN, NAS, Mirroring, striping and other related data storageconceptsBasic OS and Network understanding:Latency, QoS etcDB Troubleshooting and performance improvement skillsCapable of leading, planning and coordinating activitiesStrong written and verbal communication skills
Desired skills:
Strong experience in Power Shell Strong experience in SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2012 Experience with ETL and BI tools and technologies
