General Description
The Tubelite Materials Manager is responsible for leading material flow strategies from supplier to customer achieving objectives for safety, service, quality, productivity, continuous improvement and profitability. This position will lead, train and coach the material teams in multiple facilities, encompassing the functions of information technology, production scheduling, supply chain, receiving, material handling, warehousing and shipping logistics.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
*Provide leadership to the materials value stream teams including Supplier Development, Distribution, Transportation, Logistics and Scheduling
Plan, manage and lead the Company's materials functions including: information technology, production scheduling, supply chain, receiving, material handling, warehousing and shipping logistics to achieve business goals
Develop, implement and maintain material policy, procedures and material control systems that support the Company's value stream maps. Drive transformation to reduce costs, streamline procedures and implement solutions
Establish inventory replenishment processes that evaluate production schedules, capacity and current inventory against forecast and projected customer demand levels
Integrate and communicate inventory plans through the "Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning" (SIOP) process
Manage the "Plan For Every Part" (PFEP) for all purchased, work-in-process and finished goods inventories that includes database management, stocking levels, space requirements, address system and replenishment process
Lead material action plans and problem solving that improve key performance indicators including: inventory accuracy, material shortages, past due orders, back orders, logistics costs, inventory days on hand, cash flow, lead times and customer on time delivery
Develop standard processes for shop floor visual scheduling boards, material replenishment signals (Kanban) and material deliveries that support value-add operations
Establish supplier development strategies and policies for external and intercompany partners improving supplier performance regarding lead time, quality, delivery and cost
Develop standard supply partner processes for performance reviews, product qualification, corrective actions, communications and contract review
Define and communicate performance targets for supply chain team. Ensure entire supply chain is integrated to meet goals
Support the distribution and transportation team strategies to assure effective cost management and continuous improvement of productivity, material handling safety, physical inventory and accurate customer order fulfillment
Work closely with Engineering, Marketing and Sales to properly forecast new product timelines, inventory and sales
Position Requirements
*Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or similar. M.A. preferred.
*Minimum 3 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment and minimum 3 years materials experience
*Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, ERP/MRP and Strategy Deployment
*Experience leading or facilitating Problem Solving, Kaizen, 5S, Standardized Work, Visual Management
*Proven track record to improve cash flow and working capital management
*Strong knowledge of advanced manufacturing tools such as MRP, Just-In-Time (JIT), Plan For Every Part (PFEP), Kanban, Level Scheduling, Heijunka
*Excellent communication and negotiation skills
*Proficient with Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
*Willingness to regularly travel between the Dallas, Reed City and Walker facilities.
*Proficiency using and maintaining an ERP system, Oracle's JD Edwards preferred

*Planning and logistics accreditations such as APICs certification in Supply Chain Management and Detailed Scheduling and Planning or ISM Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
