QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     1.     One year certificate from college or technical school; four years' experience and/or training in operating welding and metal fabricating equipment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    2.     Materials knowledge.

    3.     Mechanical aptitude.

    4.     Must be able to read blueprints.

    5.     Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

            6.         Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
