Grant Coordinator

Duties:

• Secures and manages financial support for the strategic initiatives relevant to the operations of Health Department programs.
• Researches and identifies new funding opportunities and coordinates the development, submission, and management of grant applications and awards from public and private sources.
• Gathers information for grant writing and reporting and collaborates with the Finance Manager to prepare proposals and budgets.
• Maintains the internal grant support system, participates in quarterly and annual reporting, and monitors program compliance.
• Builds relationships with staff, community partners, and funders.
• Prepares related contracts and resolutions, attends relevant meetings, and regularly aligns grant activities with departmental leadership.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a public health, healthcare, or related setting with grant writing and grant management responsibilities.
• A degree in public health, human services, public administration or a related field is preferred.

Special Requirements:

• Must possess and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license with access to a reliable vehicle throughout the course of employment.
• This position requires physical mobility, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., and performing repetitive hand and wrist movements. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to support individuals with disabilities in meeting these demands.
• Will be required to travel for meetings and appointments.
• In times of public health emergency, may be required to report for specialized assigned duties inside or outside of Berrien County.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Must have strong writing, analytical, and communication skills; be highly organized, adaptable, and able to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Skilled in problem-solving, recordkeeping, and team collaboration.
• Requires knowledge of Berrien County community services and proficiency in Microsoft Office, grant writing, management, and reporting.
