The Customer Experience & Delivery department is seeking positive, reliable and motivated individuals to join our Lansing Call Center Team! We are the voice of more than 6.5 million Michigan residents. Our five call centers in Michigan are located in Alma, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Royal Oak and Saginaw. We are a virtual call center, meaning we take calls
from anyone, anywhere. We help customers with a variety of issues ranging from billing inquiries, to service requests, and appliance repair needs. When our customers need us most during storms and power outages, downed power lines and gas emergencies, they can Count On Us to be at our best!

Customer Service Representatives work in a highly monitored environment and are frequently measured for their compliance to schedule, quality assurance surveys, call handling time and sales expectations.
Consumers Energy Company’s call centers operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
The Lansing Call Center operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
Job Description/Responsibilities
Customer Service Representatives typically handle more than 100 incoming calls per day and assist customers with a variety of complex topics related to the utility industry.
Successful candidates must be dedicated to providing superior customer service and selling our value added services.
Successful candidates must be available to work full time beginning September 29th, 2014,
Candidates will attend an initial 6 week paid training program and must be able to fulfill all training requirements including 100% attendance in all classes.
Candidates selected for these positions will be provided comprehensive training and must independently and effectively resolve a variety of customer inquiries that are scripted or have specific call handling guidelines in place.
Upon successful completion of the training program, all employees are assigned a new work schedule through a shift bid process based on seniority.
New employees have a 6 month probationary period and must meet all training and performance expectations during that time.
The starting wage for the Customer Service Representative position is $13.85 per hour. Premiums of $2/hour for demonstrated bilingual skills and $1/hour for weekend and night portions of assigned shifts are available. Customer Service Representatives also receive incentives based on achievement of sales goals and expectations.
