To be successful in this role:
- To show a strong ability to provide great customer service. Our community is our customer, and we serve them every day!
- Communicate clearly with customers and manage fare box transactions.
- You must be open to a work schedule that supports our customers. For example, you may be assigned to supporting the movement of our community Thursday to Monday 2:00 PM - 10:30PM and later choose a roster that is Wednesday to Sunday 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM. Roster picks are chosen three times a year based on seniority.
- You must be able to obtain a Class B CDL with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsement.
- Possess a valid Michigan Driver's license with less than 4 points. Points greater than 4 will automatically disqualify the applicant from consideration.
- Able to obtain the proper Commercial Driver's License (CDL) license, will train to achieve endorsements during our training program for new drivers.
- Meet and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination requirements including drug and alcohol screening.
- Maintain an excellent driving record.
- Able to interpret and follow run guidelines for assigned routes.
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
- The ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee and customer safety.
- Able to safely secure mobility devices in accordance with FTA rules for ADA passengers.
