Blue Cross Blue Shield of MI (BCBSM) has an exciting Full-Year Internship opportunity available within our Service Engineering area. This group services engineering for all BCBSM networks, integration, control/monitor all traffic inbound/outbound - connections between buildings, firewall management, VPN traffic, etc. * The ideal candidate will have an interest in network engineering and infrastructure (rather than developing/coding). About the Role This Full-Year Internship will involve: * Organization and set up on shared files * Initial draft process flow documentation * Working with other analysts ensuring info is accurate * Consolidation of file info * Sitting in project level meetings (taking notes, identifying tasks) * Potential for more hands-on work depending upon skill level The Internship Program at BCBSM is designed to enhance the skills and abilities of young professionals as well as to identify and attract future talent for our organization. Interns will gain practical hands-on work experience as well as a solid understanding of the health insurance industry. Additional aspects of the Internship may include: * Participate in networking events with BCBSM leaders and other interns. * Engage in volunteer activities/community outreach to build knowledge of our communities and customers. * Participate in department meetings and events (i.e., monthly Diversity and Inclusion events, department wide team building events, weekly meetings to ensure team alignment, etc.). "Qualifications" * Current undergraduate or graduate student with a 3.0 GPA or higher required. * Interns must be enrolled in a four-year college/university or a Master's/PhD program for the duration of the internship. * Looking to pursue a field in Network engineering or Infrastructure. * Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Positive attitude. * Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. * Responsible for maintaining confidential information to the highest degree.
