One focus area of the Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) mission is to provide tools, resources, and environments that support safe, efficient, healthy behaviors and encourage employees to proactively manage their health and wellbeing. To support this focus area, Amazon is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Strategist for our Occupational and Environmental Health Analytics, Programs and Education.
This role is responsible for leading health analytics, programs and education strategies for Amazon Worldwide Operations Health vertical. The candidate will be accountable for prioritizing goals, partnerships, programs and resources to maximize positive health impact across the diversified workforce. Taking a comprehensive and holistic view of factors influencing health and wellness, the strategist will develop and manage the backbone for understanding employee health and wellness: a deep data and feedback ecosystem and metrics to evaluate and understand causal mechanisms. The data ecosystem will support a signal detection program for health and wellness outcomes. Data insights will be used to prioritize outcomes that Amazon can influence through programs designed to maximize employee health and wellness.
The senior strategist will lead partnerships to develop, pilot, and scale programs that improve and maximize health and wellness. The senior strategist will also develop and manage efforts aimed at (1) elevating understanding of exposures and health impacts; and (2) developing evidence-based mitigation, prevention, and health promotion initiatives. The role will oversee the implementation of such initiatives, including internal communications and their rollout. Through partnerships and outreach, the senior strategist will create scalable health solutions that are mutually beneficial for employees, communities, and the company. Partnerships will be external and internal, and will include partnership with the worker health and safety training team to develop programs to heighten the general health literacy of employee population.
The work will include consideration of broad factors such as SDoH, environmental health and sustainability, health literacy and employee health activation. Employee engagement programs will be integrated in these efforts. Behavior change motivations and mechanisms, at both the institutional and personal levels, will be key considerations for all programs.
The senior strategist will be responsible for documenting the efforts for workforce health and provide salient examples and insights to Amazon employees and colleagues.
Your skills and expertise to set you up for success in this role from day one, Amazon requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree
* Demonstrated experience in occupational and environmental health
* Ability to define and utilize metrics to drive innovation
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple stakeholders
* Master's degree
* 10+ years developing partnerships across organizations and disciplines
* Demonstrated ability to identify and cultivate de novo partnerships to support de novo program development
* 5+ years developing systems for occupational health data collection and integration
* 5+ years developing and implementing occupational health research projects
* Experience in employee health communication
* Understanding of systems and data collected through health encounters such as claims and EHR, and the complexities of data integration across systems and sources
* Understanding of SDoH and their impact on outcomes
* Understanding of sustainability issues and their impact on human health
* 15+ years of experience in academic and life sciences environments
