The GSS organization's Engineering group develops data systems for improved diagnostics and predictive maintenance. The data systems monitor the performance of fleets of KLA test and measurement equipment in semiconductor fabrication plant environments. They collect, transform, and store data. They provide visualizations, recommendations based on analytics, and alerts. This exciting position will enable you to interact with a wide variety of engineers and KLA system data.
Job Description:
As an Algorithms Engineer, you will develop algorithms and software applications for improved diagnostics and predicative maintenance of KLA's fleet of tools. You will closely collaborate with other domain experts in the Engineering, Algorithms, Service, and Application Teams to gather and analyze technical requirements and success criteria, then develop sophisticated data analysis algorithms using machine learning packages and software tools for statistical analyses. You will responsible for selecting appropriate candidate analysis techniques, frameworks, and algorithms, as well as performing necessary tests and tuning. You will work with engineering domain experts to evaluate the algorithm results and select the optimal solution.
Basic Requirements:
Sound understanding of statistics, data structures, and algorithms
Proficient coding in Python/R with experience developing data analytic scripts in one or both
Good understanding of data analytics and machine learning models for regression and classification problems
Good software design/implementation capabilities
Effective communication and team interaction skills
Creative problem-solver who is motivated to learn independently
Desired:
Having some of following types of experience is useful:
Statistical analysis, pattern recognition, and or prediction modeling
Designing and implementing User Interfaces (desktop or web)
Encryption and security concepts and practices
Building, maintaining, or repairing scientific instruments or other mechanical, electrical, and/or optical systems
